Is that my chance of a place?
No. It is an average across all applicants and courses. Courses say what they rate, but not in enough detail to work out one person’s chance, and the Clearing House gives no per-course rates. Be wary of anyone who offers you a personal chance.
What the figures leave out
- Self-funded applicants. The Clearing House counted 283 for 2025 entry, in its 2025 newsletter.
- People applying again. The Clearing House publishes no figure for them.

What happens after training
Of those who completed NHS training in 2024 and returned data, 90.5% were working as a clinical psychologist, or in an equivalent post, within 12 months. In 2024/25, 0.3% of NHS trainees did not complete.
