A published reasoning test before interview.

At interview

An interview day with a group task observed by the selection panel, an individual panel interview focused on research and relevant clinical knowledge, a prepared answer to a task sent a week in advance, and a short clinically-oriented role-play.

If you have applied here

Your first hurdle is a reasoning test, and this site does not prepare you for it. At interview this course uses role-play with an actor or panel member, which is the same reasoning the practice here rehearses.

What to do

  • Work through the scenario practice — it rehearses weighing imperfect responses against professional standards, which is what these tasks assess.
  • Read the course’s own selection page before you prepare. It is linked on this page and it is the only authority on its own process.
  • Practise deductive reasoning with the test publisher’s own materials, which the course links to.

Where this site does not help

  • This site has no practice for the reasoning test that decides whether you reach interview. Nothing here trains it, and clinical scenario practice is not what it measures.

Practice material here reflects what research and first-hand accounts indicate these assessments are like. No course publishes its test, so nothing is confirmed and this site claims no inside knowledge. Not affiliated with University of Sheffield, the Clearing House, the BPS or the HCPC.
