Before interview
The course states: “We are considering using an additional assessment task for shortlisting.” Its screening, short-listing and interview structure are all under review by the selection subcommittee for this recruitment cycle. The Clearing House separately lists Glasgow as considering a short-listing test or questionnaire.
The course says it may introduce a test. Watch its own pages.
At interview
A structured role-play scenario depicting a work-based situation involving an interaction with a colleague, conducted remotely on Teams in the weeks before interview, with actors experienced in working with students at the University's College of Medicine. Assessed by up to three trained assessors including at least one clinical psychologist and one Expert by Experience. It assesses interpersonal and reflective skills. Interview structure and duration are under review.
- Role-play with an actor or panel member
- Panel interview
Worth knowing
Glasgow flags most of its process as under review and directs applicants to its own website for the current position.
Partly relevant
If you have applied here
This course may introduce a short-listing test and has not confirmed it. At interview this course uses role-play with an actor or panel member, which is the same reasoning the practice here rehearses.
What to do
- Work through the scenario practice — it rehearses weighing imperfect responses against professional standards, which is what these tasks assess.
- Read the course’s own selection page before you prepare. It is linked on this page and it is the only authority on its own process.
Where this site does not help
- Whether there is a test at all is not settled. Check the course’s own pages near the deadline rather than relying on this one.
Practice material here reflects what research and first-hand accounts indicate these assessments are like. No course publishes its test, so nothing is confirmed and this site claims no inside knowledge. Not affiliated with University of Glasgow, the Clearing House, the BPS or the HCPC.
